Rock Festival Bicentennial Present , Conaculta and Culture City of Frida Kahlo Face

The Ministry of Culture of the Federal District and the National Council for Culture and the Arts (Conaculta) presented the Bicentennial Rock Festival to be held in August.

In conference at the Museum of Mexico City, Azucena Rebollo, Cultural Liaison Coordinator of the Ministry of Culture, along with Roco, singer of Maldita Vecindad and Lino Nava, a member of La Lupita welcomed the young and the accompanying media tonight.

"This festival was motivated by the recent appointment of our city as Capital Iberoamericana de la Cultura, in addition to that this year marks the bicentenary of the Independence and Centennial of the Revolution. This project is for youth who have found in the rock and visual arts such as graffiti various forms of expression, "said Rebollo.

During this festival will present various music workshops and clinics, graffiti and photography, as well as exhibitions and three tables of reflection on the rock, which will be held at the Museum of the City, the Tianguis Poplar and the Lighthouse of Tlahuac.

Roco, singer of the Maldita Vecindad, who along with the musicians Lino Nava, Guillermo Briceño, Tuco and speaker Miguel Flores Solís, comprising the first panel "Rock and identity", also spoke of this project.

"It is very important this space, which is allowing young people to express themselves far this year of celebration, but we must not forget that the ideals of national heroes and still have not changed as valid as ever.

"Now as youth is our responsibility to keep alive the struggle for a better country and how it is the expression of either rock, graffiti or written word. These means represent the feelings of a society that does not tire of fight, "said Roco.
